Morris is a lawyer and former academic philosopher. He was Senior Legal Advisor at Open Society Foundations, and then directed the Sigrid Rausing Trust. He has done strategic human rights litigation at UN bodies, and has developed two strategic litigation funds. In addition, he has done grantee and portfolio evaluations for a wide range of foundations.
